As we transition through the seasons our skin’s needs also change.

Cooler Autumn weather can cause dry skin and steal your glow leaving you with a lacklustre complexion. You may also experience increased breakouts and sensitivity. These are all signs that your current routine it not meeting your skin’s needs and it’s time to shake up your beauty routine!

1. Choose a cleanser to suit the season

A cleanser that may have worked wonders during the summer months may dry your skin in Autumn.  If your skin is being stripped of too many natural oils it will start to produce more and more!  Try choosing a gentler creamy cleanser to balance and soothe the skin instead.  I recommend double cleansing twice morning and night to remove impurities, toxins and environment pollutants. Try our Clay Cleanser With Sandalwood.

2.Switch your moisturiser

You may have found a moisturiser that works just fine in summer, but as the weather starts to get cooler, your skin can start to lose its glow and lustre. Set aside oil fighting products in favour of hydration boosting and nourishing products. The Sodashi Calming Face and Neck Moisturiser with extracts of rose and calendula gives the skin a real boost of hydration. For customised skincare advice to suit your exact skin type, pop in and chat to one of our expert therapists at Bodhi J Pier Street or Wembley.

3.Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!

This is an essential step in your skin care routine – whatever the season.  Removing the outer dead skin cells ensures that all the nutrients from your natural skin care products absorb and penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin.  If your skin’s feeling a bit lacklustre choose an exfoliant with brightening ingredients like Sodashi’s Enzyme Face Polish, and for ongoing maintenance use our skin game-changer – a daily warm compress with one of our facial Concentrates. The Calming and Rejuvenating Concentrates are particularly hydrating and nourishing for the autumn and winter months.

4. Uplift mind, mood and emotions

We all experience seasonal transition on many levels; it’s not just your skin that can be affected. Your mood and emotions can sometimes feel out of whack and dampen your radiance! Essential oils are incredible tools to uplift and balance the mind, mood and emotions.  They are packed with negative ions so give the same uplifting quality as a walk along the beach. Sodashi facial mists are a wonderful way to tap into the power of essential oils to keep you feeling great – and to keep skin beautifully hydrated.

5. Massage in a serum

Add a nourishing and hydrating serum to your evening skincare ritual. After cleansing, spend a few minutes massaging your skin with a natural serum. The Samadara Elixir with extracts of rosewood, jasmine and camellia is a wonderful skin perfecting formula.  The pure plant extracts will easily absorb and penetrate as you stimulate the blood flow with massage.  Use your hands and fingers to do upward, small circular motions over the cheeks and face and then strokes up the neck.  And don’t forget your décolletage – long firm strokes work best here.

6. Supercharge your immunity

Boost your Vitamin C intake. This will not only get your skin glowing, it will protect you from any of the cold and flu viruses that are going around. Try Lypo-spheric Vitamin C, I’ve tried many Vitamin C supplements in my time and this is by far the best one I have used. I’d also recommend pure oregano oil – 3 drops per day in some water (just enough to swallow it) to keep any cold and flu invasions at bay.
